Sorbitan Stearate is a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier derived from sorbitol and stearic acid. It functions primarily as a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsifier, stabilizer, and dispersing agent. Due to its mildness, biodegradability, and compatibility with a wide range of oils and waxes, it is widely used to enhance the texture, consistency, and shelf life of emulsified formulations. It is also often used with polysorbates for tailored emulsification systems.
