Sorbitan Tristearate is a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier produced by the esterification of sorbitol with stearic acid. It is primarily used to stabilize water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions and offers excellent thickening, structuring, and dispersing properties. Due to its high lipophilicity and low HLB value, it is ideal for oil-based systems and is often combined with hydrophilic emulsifiers like polysorbates to create stable emulsions. It is mild, biodegradable, and used in food and personal care formulations.
